I found this interview and thought it to be interesting for two reasons. First, Caroline county is right next to King George county and I'm fairly certain we have relatives from there. Secondly, yet no less interesting, is the detail with which Marion Simmons describes as to how she went about doing her research. I recommend listening to the interview so much, that it's even worth waiting through the rather lengthy musical introduction.

ReplyDeleteYou mentioned you may have ancestors who lived in Caroline County, Virginia. I would suggest you visit Caroline County page on my website http://www.woodforkgenealogy.com. There are several resources that you may find helpful including Freedman’s Bureau Cohabitation Records, documentation for the communities that existed in the area that became AP Hill including a plat map showing the property that was purchased by the government, a list of graves that were moved etc.
There is also an Event calendar that shows other places where I will be speaking. You can also submit your contact information to be added to the Woodfork Genealogy distribution list.
