Reuben Brannican, alias Gammon, a mulatto man aged about forty six years, about six feet high, long curley hair and at this time large & muscular ... was born in this County of free parents [Register, no.39]. He was head of a King George County household of 6 "other free" in 1810 [VA:192].

Betsy Conway, born about 1801, registered in King George County on 3 July 1817: a bright mulatto girl aged about sixteen years, about five feet four inches high ... born of a free white woman [Register no.48].

Cyrus Cunningham, born about 1777, registered in King George County on 28 May 1799: of a dark yellow Colour aged about twenty two years and about five feet ten inches high is now a free man, has served William Hooe, Gent., of this County twenty one years [Register of Free Persons, no.10].

Frances Deen, born about 1751, registered in King George County on 3 August 1801: a dark mulatto woman, aged about fifty years, about five feet high, was born free [Register, no.27].

John Deen, born about 1767, registered in King George County on 8 August 1801: a bright mulatto man aged about thirty four years, five feet seven inches high having descended from a free woman. His wife Betsy registered the same day [Register, nos.33, 34]. He was head of a King George County household of 6 "other free" in 1810 [VA:196].

William Deen, born about 1769, registered in King George County on 18 November 1799: William Hall alias Dean a Mulattoe Man aged about Thirty Years & about five feet Seven Inches high, was born free [Register, no.11].

Jane Deen, born about 1777, registered in King George County on 3 August 1801: a light mulatto woman, aged about twenty four years, five feet & one inch high, was born in this County of a free woman [Register, no.26].

Elijah Deen, born about 1779, registered in King George County on 14 October 1800: Elijah Hall alias Deen, a dark Mulatto man aged about twenty one years, & about five feet seven Inches high, was born in this County of a free Woman [Register, no.15].

James Hall, alias Deen, born about 1781, registered in King George County on 4 December 1800: a bright mulatto man aged about nineteen years and about five feet five inches high, was born in this County of a free woman [Register no.19].

Dicey Deen, born about 1788, registered in King George County on 17 August 1801: a bright mulatto woman aged about twenty three years, four feet ten inches high, having descended from a free woman [Register, no.32].

Thornton2 Deen, born about 1790, registered in King George County on 3 December 1807: a dark mulatto man about sixteen or seventeen years old, five feet high, stout made ... born free [Register, no.42].

Augustavus Dunlop, born about 1774, registered in King George County on 25 September 1798: a "molatto man about twenty four years old about five feet eight inches high was free born [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.8]. He was head of a King George County household of 6 "other free" in 1810 [VA:197].

Joseph Dunlop, born about 1768, registered as a free Negro in King George County on 25 September 1798: a mulatto man about thirty years old and five feet three inches high was born free [no.9].

Sarah Dunlop, born say 1780, was head of a King George County household of 6 "other free" in 1810 [VA:197]. She was the mother of I. Charlotte1 Dunlop, born about 1803, registered in King George County on 6 October 1819: a dark mulatto Girl about 16 years of age ... born free in this County, a daughter of Sarah Dunlop [Register, no.54].

ii. Trecy Dunlop, born about 1807, registered in King George County on 6 October 1819: a mulatto girl about 12 years old, born of a free woman, Sarah Dunlop, in this County [Register, no.55].

iii. Lydia2 Dunlop, born about 1815, registered in King George County in 1819: an infant Girl 4 years old a dark mulatto ... born of a free woman, Sarah Dunlop, in this County [Register, no.56].

Patsey Dunlop, born about 1804, registered in King George County on 1 August 1822: a bright Mulatto Girl between 18 and 19 years of age, 5' 3-1/2 Inches high [no.65].

Harril Dunlop, born about 1805, registered in King George County on 1 August 1822: a bright Mulatto Girl between 17 and 18 years of age 5' 3-1/4 Inches high [no.66].

Charlotte2 Dunlop, born about 1807, registered in King George County on 1 August 1822: a dark Mulatto between 15 and 16 Years of age, 5' 3-1/2 inches high [no.67].

Nathan1 Dunlop, born about 1782, registered in King George County on 11 April 1801: a bright mulatto lad, aged about nineteen years, five feet ten inches high, was born in this county of a free woman [no.20].

Nathan2 Dunlop, born about 1802, registered in King George County on 4 February 1819: a dark mulatto lad about 17 years of age [no.53].

Thomas Evans, born about 1766, registered in King George County on 30 March 1805: aged about thirty nine years, five feet seven inches high, with bushy curled hair, dark complexion, tolerably well set ... born in the ... County of King George of a free woman [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.40].

Rachel Evans, born about 1772, registered in King George County on 4 December 1817: a dark mulatto woman about forty five years of age about four feet eleven inches and a half high, stout made ... born of Mima Evans a free woman in this County [Register, no.50]. She was the mother of

i. Jemima2/ Mima, born about 1802, registered in King George County on 4 December 1817: a dark Coloured Girl about fifteen years of age, about five feet and an half Inches high ... born of Rachel Evans [Register, no.51].

Gawin Evans, born about 1780, registered on 6 August 1801: a black man aged about twenty one years, about five feet nine inches high, having descended from a free woman. Register no.31

Moses Evans, born about 1786, registered in King George County on 3 December 1807: a dark mulatto man aged about twenty one or twenty two years, stout made, five feet six and a quarter inches high, was born of a free woman in King George County [Register, no.43].

John Evans, born about 1787, registered in King George County on 5 February 1812: a dark mulatto man, a resident of King George County, aged about twenty five years & three months, five feet five and a quarter Inches high ... was born free [Register, no.45].

Caty Frazier was head of a King George County household of 4 "other free" in 1810 [VA:199]. She may have been the mother of

i. James Fraser, born about 1777, registered in King George County on 6 June 1802: a black man, aged about twenty five years, about five feet five inches high, rather stout made about the body and shoulders, who has been deprived of the left leg and greater part of the thigh by amputation ... was born in this county of a free negro woman ... served Thomas Jordan formerly of this county ... the term of twenty one years, for which he was bound by his said mother [Register of Free Persons, no.37].

ii. Lucy Frayzer, head of a Richmond City household of 1 "other free" in 1810 [VA:365].

iii. Billy, head of a Richmond City household of 1 "other free" and 2 slaves in 1810 [VA:365].

iv. Nancy, head of an "other free" Petersburg Town in 1810 [VA:332].

Polly Grace, a black woman aged about thirty seven years, about five feet six inches high, appears to the satisfaction of the Court to have been born free. Registered 13 August 1804 in Stafford County.

Nelly Grayson, born about 1790, registered in King George County on 6 July 1820: a light Mulatto woman about 30 years of age of ordinary Stature ... born free in this County [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.58].

Jenny Grayson, born about 1793, registered in King George County on 6 July 1820: a light Mulatto woman, 27 years old ... Daughter of Polly Grayson, was born free in this County [Register, no.59].

Daniel Greshaw, a black man, aged about twenty two years, five feet 5-1/2 Inches high, well made ... was born free in King George County Sept. 6th 1810. Register no.44.

Aaron Harrison a dark Mulatto man aged about thirty Six years about five feet two or three inches high, was the property of the late William Thorton, dec., of the County of King Geo. and being emancipated by his decd. Master as appears by a letter Written & signed by him which is now of record forming a part of his last will and testament. November 19th 1800. Register no.17.

Luke Hughes, born about 1740, registered in King George County on 27 October 1800: a dark molatto man with long grey hair, about sixty years, was born in this County, served Cadwellder Dade untill he was thirty one years of age [Register of Free Persons, no.16]. He married Behethland Kennedy on 10 July 1779 at St. Paul's Parish, King George County [St. Paul's Parish Register, 223]. He was a Revolutionary War soldier who was born in King George County and later lived in Culpeper County [Jackson, Virginia Negro Soldiers, 38].

James Lucas registered in King George County on 1 May 1800: a dark Mulatto man aged about ___ years, and about five feet ___ Inches, was bound to Thomas Massey, Senr. of this County to serve till the age of thirty one years [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.12]. He was a seaman in the Revolution from King George County [Jackson, Virginia Negro Soldiers, 40].

Anthony Lucas registered in King George County on 13 May 1800: a dark Mulatto man aged about ___ years & about five feet ___ Inches, was born in this County of a free woman [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.13]. He was head of a Loudoun County household of 11 "other free" and one slave in 1810 [VA:258]. His daughter Susannah, born 25 April 1793, married Elihu Goins and registered as "free Negroes" in Loudoun County [Certificates of Free Negroes at the Loudoun County Courthouse by Townsend Lucas].

Charles2 Lucas born about 1780, registered in King George County on 9 October 1800: a dark molatto man, aged about twenty years, & about five feet five inches high, was born in this County of a free malatto woman [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.14]. He was head of a Spotsylvania County household of 5 "other free" in 1810.

Harriet Lucas, born about 1796, registered in King George County in March 1820: a dark mulatto woman, about 24 years of age, about 5 feet high, stout made, & was born in this County of free Parents [Register, no.57].

Jane Lucas, born about 1780, registered in King George County on 7 September 1820: daughter of ___ Lucas, a dark mulatto about 40 years of age, 5' 1/12 Inch high ... born free in this County [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.63].

William Lucas, born about 1792, registered in King George County on 4 December 1817: a black man aged about Twenty five years, about five feet six and a half Inches high ... born of a free black woman [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.49], perhaps the William Lucas who was head of a Prince William County household of 1 "other free" in 1810 [VA:523].

James Mehorney, born about 1763, registered in King George County in February 1797: a black man about thirty four years old, and five feet six inches high, is a free man, having served his time with William Bernard, Gent. of this County, per order or certificate of the Court of said County [Register, no.7].

Caty Mahorney, born about 1792, registered in King George County on 7 April 1814: a black woman aged about twenty two years, spare made about five feet four and a quarter Inches high ... was born free of a woman emancipated by Richd. Bernard late of King George County decd. [Register no.46].

Lawrence Payne, born 4 October 1748, registered in King George County in November 1794: a mulatto man born October the 4th 1748 about five feet nine inches high, was bound by indenture to Langhern Dade to serve the term of thirty one years. And his wife Susannah, born about 1742, registered the same month: the wife of Laurence above, is about fifty two years old, about four feet six inches high, of a dark yellow colour, served to the age of thirty one years & is now free [Register of Free Persons 1785-1799, no.1, 5]. He was head of a Rockingham County household of 4 "other free' in 1810 [VA:36]. Their children may have been Elizabeth, Alice, and Lett (no last name) who registered at the same time as Lawrence and Susannah. They may have been the parents of

i. Alice, born about 1768, registered in November 1794: a mulatto woman, twenty six years old, about four feet six inches high, was bound by indenture to Townshend Dade, Gent., of this County to serve till eighteen years old & is now a free woman [Register, no.3].

ii. Elizabeth, born about 1770, registered in November 1794: a mulatto woman, twenty four years old & about five feet high, was bound to William Lord & his wife of this County to serve till the age of eighteen years, & is now a free woman [Register, no.2].

iii. Lett, born about 1773, registered in November 1794: of a dark yellow colour, twenty one years old 7 about five feet high, was born free & of course is a free woman [Register, no.4].

iv. Lawrence, Jr., head of a King George County household of one "other free" in 1810 [VA:212].

Charles Pain, born about 1766, registered in King George County on 10 November 1801: a dark mulatto man aged about thirty five years, about five feet six inches high, rather spare ... born in this County of free parents [Register, no.36].

Rice Pain, born about 1768, registered in King George County on 25 November 1800: a dark mulatto man, aged about thirty two years, five feet seven inches high ... Slender make ... born in this County of a free Woman [Register, no.18]. He was head of a Prince William County household of 4 "other free" in 1810 [VA:515].

Jack Pain, born about 1776, registered in King George County on 5 February 1804: a dark mulatto man, aged about twenty eight years, short and curled hair, five feet ten Inches high, well set, though not corpulent, born of a free mother of this County [Register, no.38].

Polly Payne, born about 1793, registered in King George County on 3 September 1818: a Black woman about 25 years of age, about 5 feet, stout made, born free [Register, no.52].

Leviny Prior, born about 1764, registered in King George County on 7 September 1820: daughter of Alice Prior, a very dark mulatto about 56 years of old ... born free in the county of King George [Register no.61]. She was the mother of

i. Milly Prior, born about 1783, registered on 7 September 1820: Daughter of the above named Leviny, about 37 years of age, 4 11/12 feet high - was born free in this County [Register no.62].

Andrew Pryor, born about 1775, registered in King George County on 12 January 1775: a black man, about twenty two years old and about five feet six inches high, was born of a free woman and served to the age of twenty one years with Richard Potes of this County [Register, no.6].

Winny Pryor, born about 1792, registered in King George County on 23 August 1820: daughter of Syllah Pryor, a bright mulatto woman, about 28 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high ... born free in the County of King George [Register, no.60].

Alice Sturr, a dark mulatto woman, aged about twenty years, about five feet high, was born in this County of a free woman. Certified this 1 August 1801. Register no.21.

Rachel Sturr, a bright mulatto woman, aged about eighteen years, four feet eleven inches high, was born in this county of a free woman. Certified this 1 August 1801. no.22

Kizzy Sturr, a dark mulatto woman, aged about twenty four years, five feet two inches high, was born in this County of a free woman. Certified this 1 August 1801. no.23

Nelly Sturr, a dark mulatto woman aged about seventeen years, five feet high, was born in this county of a free woman. Certified this 1 August 1801. no.24.

Thomas Sturr a dark mulatto lad, aged about fifteen years, five feet four inches & an half high, was born in this County of a free woman. Certified this 1 August 1801. no.25.

Richard Valentine, born about 1785, registered on 4 April 1822: a dark Mulatto, about 34 years of age, 5' 1 Inch high ... was born free in the County of New Kent [Register, no.64].
